BILLINGS - Winter Storm Warnings and Watches dot the landscape for Monday through Tuesday morning! The National Weather Service is calling for another batch of heavy snow and rain to fall on many locations across the region including Paradise Valley, Livingston, Crazy Mountains, Big Timber, Red Lodge, Stillwater Valley, and nearby communities. 12 to 24 inches of new snow is possible in the higher elevations. Winter Storm Warnings for the affected areas will go into effect Monday afternoon and evening, lasting through noon Tuesday. Much of the area will receive rain Monday morning, changing to accumulating snow during the day Monday, with the heaviest falling Monday night. Many locations across the region can expect a half inch of precipitation from rain and snow; some locations better than an inch. The best chance of significant snow accumulations will be along the foothills from Red Lodge to Livingston and into the Paradise Valley. Ice Jam and flood risks continue into the upcoming week with warm temperatures continuing. The Billings area is under a Winter Weather Advisory from mid afternoon Monday through noon Tuesday. The forecast for Billings Tonight : Mostly cloudy, southwest winds 10 to 20 mph, a 30% chance of showers and a low of 38. Monday : 90% chance of morning rain and snow showers changing to rain by afternoon and a high of 45. Monday night : Colder with a 100% chance of snow - up to 4 inches accumulation possible - and a low of 26. Tuesday : Becoming partly sunny with a 30% chance of rain and snow, and a high of 38.
